Stretching my back straighter, I smiled through the pain as another Uncle slapped my back in some sense of affection. I nodded my head at his joke, and smiled at the comment about me being next for marriage
The Frenzied Wedding
Vashti thought surviving the night would be enough. What she didn't expect was to end it married. Married to a stranger. The man beside her is precise with his words and controlled in his actions. The world around him seems to bend slightly, as if allowing him space to move. She feels his presence long before she understands it. Their marriage was never meant to be personal. But the longer they remain in each other's orbit, the harder it becomes to pretend it isn't. When the demons from the forest return for her, he is the only one she can lean on. The only question is- Will he stand beside her again? Or will the union that began in survival end in something far sinister?
